As teams enter the second half of the season, 2 new #1's grace the polls on the girls side, while the boys see no change, but a big showdown looms this weekend.

4A Boys:

The polls remain the same as last week. Gillette and Laramie are unanimous at #1 and #2, followed by Central, Sheridan and East. Big game are once again abound on the east side, as Laramie travels to both Sheridan and Gillette this weekend. If the Plainsmen can survive the Broncs, then they and the Camels will try to settle things in a East Conference first place battle...unlike the last time (0-0 tie in Laramie in March). Meanwhile #5 East heads back to Riske Field, to actually play the #3 Indians on Friday.

3A Boys:

No change in this poll either from last week. Jackson is the unanimous #1, followed by Buffalo, Lander, Worland and Star Valley. The Braves have the tough weekend ahead of them, as they play Jackson and Worland, back-to-back on the road. Buffalo was able to further distance themselves from Lander, after beating the Tigers this past weekend.

4A Girls:

They beat #1 on the road...now East is #1. The Lady Thunderbirds scored in OT at the UW Indoor Facility, to give the Lady Plainsmen their first loss on the season. Now they will try to defend that ranking on Friday at #4 Central. Laramie falls to #2 and host Sheridan and Gillette this weekend. An interesting game lies in the west on Friday, as there will be a battle for first place, as #5 Green River visits #3 Natrona.

3A Girls:

The Star Valley Lady Braves are now the queens of the hill, after taking it to former #1 Cody on the road this past weekend. SV is back on the road, as they play rival #4 Jackson on Friday. Cody falls to #2, while Lander jumps Jackson for #3, bumping the Lady Broncs to #4. Those 2 teams play a make-up game Tuesday in Lander. Buffalo maintains their hold at #5.
