Big Horn Girls Come Up Big in 2A Opener

The Big Horn girls lived up to their #1 seed with a 52-37 win over Lovell in the opening round of the 2A State Tournament at Casper College on Thursday.

Both teams shot 41% from the floor but Big Horn recorded 19 field goals and Lovell had just 12.

Abby Buckingham led Big Horn with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Alisyn Hutton chipped in 12 for the Rams.

Lovell had to play though a tough Big Horn defense and the Bulldogs were led in scoring by Mikkel Macintosh with 12.

Lovell sits at 13-12 and will play Southeast in the consolation round on Friday at 10:30 at the Events Center, Big Horn improves to 22-2 on the season.

Their 2A semi-final will be Friday night at the Events Center at 6pm vs. Rocky Mountain.
