He's played for one state championship team, and coached another, now a long time Cheyenne Central Indian player, alumnus and coach is hanging up his whistle.

Brick Cegelski recently resigned as head coach of the Cheyenne Central football team after 18 seasons at the helm.

He coached the team to the 2005 state championship, and a runner-up finish in 2009.

During his playing days, he was the quarterback on the 1979 state championship team.

He took over as coach in 1996, guiding the Indians to the playoffs in 16 of his 18 seasons.

Cegelski also coach the south team to a win in the 2006 Shrine Bowl.
