The top seed from the west, the Evanston Red Devils made it to the 4A Boys semi-final round with a 64-55 win over Cheyenne Central at the State Tournament in Casper on Thursday night. The Red Devils fell behind by 9 in the opening quarter of play but won the last 3 quarters thanks to a 14-17 effort from the free throw line. Evanston was led by Braxton Hiatt with 22 with Chase Critchfield contributing 16. Central got 18 points from Riley Fraley and 15 from Daniel Shumway. The Indians fall to 14-13 and will be in the consolation round on Friday. Evanston goes to 20-4 and will take on Gillette in the semi-final round on Friday night at the Casper Events Center.
