It's post-season time...which means the coaches/media rankings don't matter much anymore.

In the final rankings of the season...the 4A Boys East Regional tournament in Gillette, should be very entertaining, because the top 4 ranked team will be there. Laramie and Gillette are unanimous at #1 and #2, followed by Central and Sheridan. Riverton gets the final #5 ranking of the season, after securing the top seed in the west last week.

The final 3A boys poll is unchanged. Undefeated Jackson has the bulls-eye on their back, however their opponents at the state tournament, will have to beat the Broncs in their own back-yard. Lander is a comfortable #2, followed by Star Valley, Buffalo and Powell. Only the Braves have to play this weekend, in the state qualifier games.

In 4A Girls...the only way to really be #1, is to win the state title. The Green River girls completed an undefeated regular season, but the coaches and media continue to deny the Lady Wolves the top spot. That goes to Laramie, while GR stays at #2. Since they won the tie-breaker in the East vs. East, Sheridan moves up to #3, while the Lady Thunderbirds drop to #4. Elsewhere, Gillette is the unanimous #5.

The final 3A girls rankings welcome back a team that hasn't been in the top 5 since the beginning of the season. Defending champion Jackson is back at #5, and have some unfinished business this weekend, in the state qualifier game. They play the same Douglas team, that beat them one month ago in the Worland Tournament. As for the rest of the rankings, Lander and Star Valley are unanimous at #1 and #2, while Buffalo and Worland are #3 and #4, and will officially close the regular season vs. each other on Thursday.
