As anticipated, there are three new number one teams in the first boys basketball poll of twenty twelve.

In 3A,  Powell takes over the top after Lander was beaten by Star Valley.  The Tigers drop to number two while the Braves debut on the charts in third.  Torrington is pushed to fourth while Buffalo remains fifth after beating Wheatland in a rematch of the state finals.

The Bison travel to #2 Lander on Saturday. Star Valley has a tough interclass meeting as they take on revenge minded Evanston. Wheatland got a #1 vote but not enough points to rank in the top five this week.

2A has Lovell back at #1. The pre season faves pulled 10 of the 21 top votes. Wyoming Indian is now 2nd with 4. Former #1 Wind River received 4 #1 votes and ranks third. Burns fell a spot to fourth while Greybull fell to fifth. Wind River can shake things up more this weekend as they face #2 Wyoming Indian Friday in Ethete. Due to a scheduling error, the Cougars will travel to Thermopolis on Saturday instead of Lovell.

4A basketball saw five teams get #1 votes. Gillette is the new number one after Sheridan lost twice last week. Evanston got three top votes and moves up to second, East is now third with a #1 vote whle  Sheridan drops to fourth, also with one. Riverton remains number five. Natrona also got a #1 vote but is just outside the top five. The other big inter-class game this week, is the battle of Fremont County, when Lander visits Riverton on Thursday.

Little Snake River is again a unanimous choice for #1 in 1A.  Burlington remains second while Encampment rises to third.  Midwest is tied with chart newcomer Normative Services for fifth.  Jon Rojo and the Wolves have won 7 of their last 8 after an 0-2  start.
