Recently the WHSAA Board of Directors finalized the conferences for the next reclassification cycle, to begin at the start of the 2011-2012 school year. See related article for basketball, track, soccer and volleyball.

4A will be the same format as the past 2 years. 10 teams, with every team playing every team. Cheyenne South will replace Green River, who was downgraded to 3A.

3A will still have an east-west conference format. With GR dropping down, the Wolves will be placed in the west, while Lander will shift to the east. Wheatland will downgrade to 2A.

2A will still have an east-west conference format. With Wheatland dropping down, the Bulldogs will be placed in the east, while Thermopolis shifts to the west. Wyoming Indian will downgrade to 1A.

1A will still have an east-west conference format. WIHS will be in the west, while Hulett and Dubois downgrade to 6-man. This means there will be 8 teams in the west, and only 7 teams in the east. The WHSAA is working on trying to schedule several out-of state teams, to try and fill the void.

6-Man will have a north-south conference format, instead of east-west, as originally predicted. There will be 10 teams in the league with the additions of Hulett and Dubois.
