The Mountain West Conference is beginning to take some notice on basketball players, that played their high school careers in Wyoming.

So far in the 2010-2011 basketball season, Aubrey Vandiver (Laramie HS grad) and Hillary Carlson (Central HS grad) have each earned Mountain West Conference Player of the Year Honors twice, while playing for the University of Wyoming Cowgirls.

As of 1/10/11, the 2 have the highest scoring averages on the team, with Carlson averaging 18.5 ppg (2nd in the MWC), and Vandiver averaging 17.7 ppg (3rd in the MWC). Carlson leads the team in blocks with 35 (1st in the MWC), total field goal percentage with 53.4% (3rd in MWC) and 3-point FG percentage with 45.2% (3rd in MWC). Vandiver leads the team in assists with 138 (1st in the MWC) and defensive rebounds with 101 (1st in MWC).

UW's record is 11-3, with a 2-0 conference record, heading into Wednesday's (1/12/11) game home vs. TCU.
