Jackson would score 2 2nd half goals and spoil KW's home opener on their new field.

You know how there’s that new car smell? Well for Coach Ralston is all about that new field feel. Maybe it’s giving him a nice foot massage!

Jackson at Kelly Walsh in a 3A vs. 4A match-up…first half…Jackson wearing the black…and having a little bit of trouble trying to clear out the ball…Rachel Mullen…a freshman would cash in on the miscue and will get the first goal for the Lady Trojans on their brand new field…and her team is on the board, leading 1-to-nothing.

On the other end…the Lady Broncs were looking for an equalizer…Jennifer Garcia will try to score on the assist but Shelby Bulfer swats the ball away at the last moment…but she’s not out of the woods just yet…here comes a long range attack by Maddie Sutton, and the senior was able to raise up to the challenge and keep it out of the net. K-W would hang on to the 1-nothing lead going into halftime.

Second half…both teams now going in the opposite direction…the ball is in the right spot for Kaitlin Boothe, but she put just a little bit too much on it, and that ball is heading over to the next field, which won’t do any good for the Lady Trojans.

Meanwhile…Jackson would get back on the attack…Charlotte Pierce with the initial shot and Taylor Graue will re-direct it, into the net. That how team-work is supposed to go…the score is now tied up at 1 goal a piece.

Later…the 4-time defending 3A state champs would threaten again…the goalie is out of place. Thankfully Mullen was not. All she could do was kick the ball out of bounds, but at least she ended up saving a goal for the time being.

The Lady Broncs would come up with a new game plan…Jess Freeze is going to fight her way through traffic and she’ll find the far corner of the net open…and scores….as the visitors would spoil the new home opener for the Kelly Walsh…winning this game 2-to-1.
