Golfers scattered the state while one team went to Arizona to play.

The Riverton boys team competed in Arizona this weekend. The Wolverines were invited to the Antigua National Invitational in Scottsdale, Ariz. The tournament included some of the top high school programs from around the region. They competed at the McCormick Ranch golf course.

Going into the final six holes, defending 4A champion Easton Paxton was down five strokes.  The Riverton sophomore stormed back to tie the leader at the end. He eagled a par 4 to get with in a stroke with 2 holes to play. The Texan in the lead Garret May (who is headed to Baylor next fall to golf,  then bogeyed a hole to tie Paxton. With teams trying to catch flights back home, there was a scorecard playoff. They looked at the lowest score on the last night holes and Paxton was declared the winner.

Teamwise, Riverton finished 17th out of the 23 team elite field.   The teams ranged from Florida, Illinois, Canada, and the region.
