Wyoming prep indoor track and field athletes competed in the huge Simplot Games in Pocatello Idaho over the weekend.    Teams from 20 states and Canada were represented at the three day event.

As for Wyopreps,  Gillette’s Paula Andri brought home a title as she went 12 feet in winning the girls pole vault.   She also was 12th in the 60 meter hurdles and the long jump.    Also in the girls pole vault, Cody’s Josie Pehringer was 3rd with teammate Anna Bales 7th.

Dylan Morin of Sheridan was runner up in the 3200 meters while Alex Sorenson of Evanston was 9th in that event.

Cody’s Kyle Sullivan finshed fifth in the 60 meter hurdles and was 9th in the high jump.   Boys pole vault saw Jesse Johnston of Gillette fourth and Quinn Rivera of Cody 5th.  Both went out at 14 feet.

Natrona’s Lucas Rowley was 9th in the shot and 8th in the weight toss.    Cody’s James Bushnell was 10th in the shot put as well.

Other top 15 finishers included:   Audra Destafano, Gillette,  9th in the 3200;   Hannah Svilar, Riverton, 13th in the shot put;

Jessica Lemaster, Central, 9th in the 1600,  Lacey Slominski, Natrona, 9th in the weight throw.

Coaches even got into the act as Star Valley coach Ty Draney was 4th in the coaches 1600 meters with Natrona coach Becky Sondag 8th.   There were more placers in the top 25, click the links to see complete results.
