The Kaycee Buckaroos, the #1 seed from the east, outlasted a pesky St. Stephens team 76-67 in the quarterfinal round of the 1A Boys State Tournament at the Casper Events Center on Thursday afternoon.

Kaycee shot 51% from the floor and were led in scoring by Reed Stafford with 23 points on 8-12 shooting from the field. Hunter Rouse had 16 and Mark Largent threw in a dozen.

St. Stephens had 5 players in double figures led by Vincent Brown with 16 on 7-16 from the field.

The Eagles are 10-10 on the season and will be in the consolation round against Arvada Clearmont on Friday at noon at Casper College.

Kaycee ups their record to 22-3 and will meet Snake River in the 1A semi-finals at 7:30 on Friday at Kelly Walsh.
