The Lady Tigers pounced on the Lady Braves with 3 first half goals (including an own goal), to show why they are a contender this season.

Now this is another sign, aside from soccer, that spring might finally be here. Once this ramp is built and the kids bring their bikes...we are all set!

#4 Star Valley at #1 Lander...first half...Star Valley wearing the maroon...and they were knocking on the door a couple of times...they just need to work on their aim...denied twice by the crossbar, before Ashlynn Schamber is finally able to get her hands on the ball and end that scoring threat...but not before the senior dodged a couple bullets

On the other end...Lander's aim was much better...Taylor Meeks shows why she is the second leading scorer in the state coming into this game...she just gave the ball a light touch and that was all she needed. Her team would draw first blood and lead 1-to-nothing.

A few minutes later...this was a moment that the Lady Braves' did not enjoy...they were trying to clear the ball out...and again...bad aim...knocking the ball into your own net, is going to do a lot more harm than good. Cierra Winslow gets the credit on the goal for her team...because she was the last Lady Tiger, to touch the ball. That's how it works...and the score is now 2-zip.

The visitors had their chances...they must have just been having a really bad day...Madi Klein has a one-on-one opportunity...and her shot will miss the mark...frustrating maybe an understatement. Something was not clicking.

Meanwhile...everything was going right for the home team...even from long distance...they could do no wrong...Rachael Troxel from 30 yards...a hop, skip and a jump and that ball is going into the back of the net. Lander was proving that they were worthy of their ranking...and would take a 3-nil lead, going into halftime.

Second half...both teams going in the opposite direction...not much happened, aside from this...Klein's shot is mis-played by Schamber, and the ball will roll in for a score. That would end the shutout bid, but Star Valley was still 2 goals short. The Lady Tigers would win this one...by a score of 3-to-1.
