Legion Baseball 2013 Post-Season Recognitions

A few late tidbits from the 2013 Wyoming Legion Baseball Season:

AA State Tournament MVP: Tyler Lambert - Cheyenne Post 6

AA Team Sportsmanship Award: Rock Springs Archie Hay Post 24

A State Tournament MVP: Abel Cases (Laramie Rangers) AND Alex Jordan (Laramie Rangers)

A Team Sportsmanship Award: Cody Cubs

In other news...Jacob Kostal of the Casper Drillers...was at the USA baseball try out event in March...and at the Mountain West Regional event in Utah

He was one of 250 selected to go to Mountain West Regional trials for USA baseball and was selected to be on the 18 man roster to represent Mountain West Regional Baseball, which will try out for US 16-under National Team.

The Mountain West Regional team is one of 13 regions, which will participate in the upcoming  National Team Identification Series, August 22-25, in Carey,  North Carolina.

From there, 20 players will be chosen from the 13 regions to participate on the 2014 US 17-under National Training Development Program or the US 18-under National Team.

Kostal is the starting catcher for the Casper Drillers and a freshman at Natrona County High School.

He is the only player from Wyoming invited to try-out.
