Legion Baseball A-League District Tournaments 2014

Time to start the baseball post-season.

A-league teams will converge in Cody and in Rock Springs, to determine which teams will move on to the state tournament in Laramie.

It's not quite a double-elimination format.

If a team loses once, they are still alive, but they can't play for the one of the top 2 seeds.

The best they do is 3rd or 4th.

Win the first 2 games, and a team is guaranteed one of the top 2 seeds.

Lose the first 2 games, and a team is done for the year.

All games are 9-inning contests.

North at Cody:

With only 7 teams, one team gets a first round bye. Normally, the top seed out of the Northeast would play the 4th place team in the Northwest, but since the Northwest does not have a 4th team, Douglas gets the first round bye.

Consolation Round:

Casper Drillers get a bye.

Wheatland Lobos 16 Lovell Mustangs 3 - Lovell Eliminated.

Semi-Finals:

Powell Pioneers 9 Douglas Cats 7 - Powell qualifies for the state tournament.

Cody Cubs 15 Cheyenne Hawks 0 - Cody qualifies for the state tournament.

Saturday, July 26:

Douglas Cats 17 Wheatland Lobos 0 - Wheatland Eliminated. Douglas qualifies for the state tournament.

Casper Drillers 8 Cheyenne Hawks 7 - Cheyenne Hawks Eliminated. Casper Drillers qualify for the state tournament.

Douglas Cats 9 Casper Drillers 3 - 3rd Place

Cody Cubs 11 Powell Pioneers 1 - Championship

South at Rock Springs:

Evanston gets #2 SW seed over Riverton due to winning the head-to-head series 3-1.
