Highlights of the Friday, October 11th, 1A Football Game, between #4 Upton-Sundance at #2 Lusk

Scroll down to watch highlights of the game.

Matthew VandeBossche scored 3 TD's, and the Tigers showed why they have the top overall defense in the state in all-classes...limiting the Patriots to roughly 45 yards on total offense in this game. It's the 5th straight shutout for Lusk.

It's time to find out which side had more fans...decent crowd on one side...and a decent crowd on the other...now let's check the parking lot...ummmmm...give them credit...at least they were staying warm!

#4 Upton-Sundance at #2 Lusk...first quarter...Lusk wearing the red...Hunter Dockery with a good fake...and then he will uncork a long one...45 yards and he finds Matthew VandeBossche who had his defender beat on the play...the home team was not messing around, and they would strike early to take a 6-nothing lead.

On the next possession...they got the camera on this one...we bought the fake...Dockery actually ran a bootleg to the far side and connected with Bryce Sturman for a 6-yard score...that was our fault...the Tigers earned that score...and they led 14-zip after the first 12 minutes.

Second quarter...we're trying to give Upton-Sundance some love...but there was not much to show...Lane Carter will recover the fumble for the Patriots...but his team-mates could do nothing with the turn-over and had to punt the ball away.

On the first play after the possession change...here comes VandeBossche again...and there he goes...77 yards...his senior class is more than motivated this year, after state runner-up finishes last school year, in football, basketball and track...they want to finish the job this year...and are now ahead, 21-nothing.

How about some defense...Lusk has the top overall D in the state in all classes...Brady Thurston snags an interception to prove that point...this game has been all home team so far, and they got the opposition seeing red.

The Tigers also know how to finish the job...they go one way...and then reverse it the other...no fooling the camera that time...it's Logan Lamar on a 16 yard run...his team also has the 2nd best rushing offense in the state...all classes, coming into this game...now the score is 28-zip.

...and they were not done...Martin Fitzwater puts his head down and he made it from 2 yards away...Lusk was all business in this game...leading 34-to-zero going into the locker room.

3rd quarter...here comes more...VandeBossche again....2 yards...and the ref said he made it...his third TD of the game...the Tigers are cruising with a 40-to-nothing advantage.

This game was very one-sided...the defense held the Patriots to roughly 45 yards of total offense...and it was not a good night for the red white and blue.

Both teams actually only had 3 days to prepare for this, because they both had to play back on Monday, thanks to the snowstorm...that might have had an effect on Upton-Sundance...but not the opposition...Lamar comes up with a pick of his own and he has his boys back in business once again.

For the Tigers...their minds are already on Southeast...Dockery finds a wide open Thurston to put the mercy rule into effect...nothing happened in the 4th quarter...it's not worth showing...Lusk wins in a rout...46-zip.
