(wyopreps.com) The Gillette ladies and the Central boys both picked up championships Tuesday at the Casper Golf Invitational. The boy’s side saw Cheyenne Central post a final team score of 587 putting Gillette in second place at 659. Cheyenne East came in third at 668, Kelly Walsh fourth at 676 and Natrona fifth at 677. Torrington, Rawlins, and Wright also participated in the event. Individually Josh Creel of Cheyenne Central had days of 69 and 71 to lead the field with a two day 140. Derek Francois also of Central shot a combined, and Indian Kyle Fanning shot a 145 to give Central the top three individual efforts.
The girls side of the Casper Invite saw Gillette take the team championship getting a 535 team score in the two day event. Cheyenne Central came in second at 555, while Natrona took third at 597, East finished fourth, and Torrington fifth. Brooke Jorgenson of Gillette put together a 170 in two days to lead the pack individually. Central’s Emily Woodward shot a 174 to come in second, and Gillette Emily Moore had a 184 that was good enough to put her in third place overall.
