Legion Baseball Holds State Meeting
Will Oilers be involved?

December 3, 2007, 06:00 a.m. EST
(/)

Wyoming American Legion Baseball held their winter scheduling meeting in Casper.

The big story is whether or not Casper will be a part of the state's legion baseball.

For the past 40 years, Casper Baseball Inc. has had a partnership with Wyoming Legion Baseball. Casper Legion says they will field a AA team to compete as usual, but, Casper Baseball Inc says they are going away from Legion baseball and will play in the Connie Mack League.

In business at the meeting, they have determined that Gillette will host the state AA tournament in 2008 as opposed to Rock Springs who will get it in 09.

Isntead of North and South conferences, it will be East and West.

East Division is: Cheyenne Torrington, Gillette, and Sheridan

West Division is: Casper, Laramie, Rock Springs, and Evanston.

In 2008, the state tournaments for A and AA are scheduled at the same time (in Gillette and Cheyenne). Beginning in 2009, the A tournament will be scheduled one week earlier and then the champion and runner-up (if needed) will then advance to play in the AA state tournament the following week.

Single A state is in Cheyenne in 08
