The Billings Gazette has reported that Casey Rogers of State AA champion Billings West and Daniel Pearson of Billings Central have been selected for the boys Montana All-Star basketball team.
The 6-foot-1 Rogers averaged 23 points a game in the state tournament as the Golden Bears claimed their second straight championship. The 6-3 Pearson led the Rams to the Eastern A title and a berth in the consolation game of the State A tournament.
Players from the three other state title teams were also selected, 6-5 D.J. Fish of A champion Browning, 6-2 Trey Wanty of B champion Shelby and 6-2 Brian Foran of V champion Winifred.
Also making the squad were 6-3 Cole Conway of Butte, 6-4 Brandon Boltz of Butte, 6-5 Andy Garland of Missoula Sentinel, 6-7 Grant Fink of Helena and 6-4 Jim Mee of Libby.
The girls team consists of three Division I recruits: 6-1 Kirsten Tilleman of Bozeman (Oregon State), 6-1 Jeni Guertin of Bozeman (Idaho State) and 5-11 Ali Hurley of Anaconda (Montana).
The list also includes 5-11 Brianne McClafferty and 6-3 Joey O'Neill of Butte, 5-9 Kezia Ford of Great Falls, 5-7 Laramie Schwenke of Malta, 5-10 Torrie Cahill of Miles City, 5-6 Kalli Stanhope of Glendive and 5-8 Sage Indendi of Livingston.
As of last report, Wyoming coaches Frank McCarthy and Joel Davidson of Sheridan College were putting the final touches on the Wyoming roster and should have them announced soon.
The series is scheduled for June 20 at Sheridan College and June 21 at Billings West.
