The defending champion Wheatland Lobos picked up where they left off last year knocking off Riverton by 14 in a quick game.
Lightning in the Cheyenne area stopped the game after 4 complete innings. Wheatland was just 3 outs away from forcing the ten-run mercy rule, but the umpires decided to call the game and award victory to Wheatland.
The Lobos got 4 runs in the 1st and exploded for an 11 run bottom of the third inning to win. Riverton's run came in the top of the first inning.
Wheatland plays Gillette at 4:00PM tomorrow, Riverton will play Cody and game time is TBA. The night cap between Cheyenne and Powell has been scratched for tonight and moved to tomorrow morning at 9:00AM. Riverton and Cody will play after that, WyoPreps will release official game times tonight or early tomorrow when they become available!
