The regular season is over. Now it's tournament time.
Several teams will head to regionals well rested after several cancellations last weekend. Others got a few final duals in and will head to regionals with some competition fresh on their mind.
4A Regionals will be held in Sheridan for the East, and newcomer Star Valley in the West. Gillette is in line to win the East with a battle for the second spot. Star Valley and Natrona will battle for the West title, but, don't leave out Green River.
3A Regionals will be in Torrington and Kemmerer.
The Blazers host the East where Douglas appears to be the favorite for the title. Wheatland and Torrington are both ranked and Lander is wrestling well and could make a run. In the West, Powell should take over the top spot vacated by Star Valley. Mountain View may have the best shot at taking down the top ranked Panthers.
1A and 2A see venue changes this year. Wind River has hosted the West for the past several seasons. 2A newcomer Thermopolis asked if they could have it this year. Wind River said OK and the Bobcats will host the West. #1 Cokeville will get competition from Greybull/Riverside and Dubois.
The East will wrestle in Burns. Lusk and Moorcroft look to be front runners there.
Check back this weekend for complete results from the regionals as teams head to State in Casper next weekend.
