Gatorade Thirst Quencher has announced their Boy's recipient for their Player of the Year Award.
Gillette Senior Justin Nelson win's this year's award, the first Camel since Sundance Wicks 10 years ago.
Nelson helped lead Gillette to their first title in 5 years. He was #1 in 4A in assists at 6.1 per game. He was fifth in steals and averaged 13 points per game while shooting 70% from the free throw line. He also grabbed 6.1 rebounds per game as well.
Nelson is also the All Time Career Leader in assists with 325 and had 169 this season. He was a 4A All State Selection for the Camels and was the 4A East Player of the Year.
Gillette was 73 and 11 in his three years of varsity basketball and won the 4A title this year.
In addition, Nelson has a 3.8 GPA and was a three time State Tennis Champion with partner Ryan Hutchison. The Camels won the 2007 Men's Tennis title this year as well.
Nelson isn't sure of his future plans as of yet.
