Moving the game indoors might have actually benefited the #1 Laramie Lady Plainsmen on Thursday. They finished up 4A East Conference action with an unblemished record of 10-0, thanks to a 5-0 victory over 3rd-ranked Cheyenne Central at the UW Indoor Facility.
The Laramie girls scored five minutes into the match and never looked back. Makenzie Meade scored two goals, while Ariela Schreibeis added a goal and three assists. Kelsey Gapter and Natasha Pettinger added the other goals, while Shelby Barnes and Haley Ahrenholtz each contributed an assist.
Ali Galey made five saves and Liesle Stonum added three more, as the Lady Plainsmen posted their seventh shutout of the season.
Just how dominant has Laramie been. They've out-scored opponents 40-to-7 overall and 35-to-4 in conference matches, and have yet to lose to a team from Wyoming.
Thursday also marked the 11th straight win overall, as LHS improved to 11-1 on the season.
Thursday's victory came just two days after the closest win of the season for the Laramie girls. They beat fourth-ranked East in Cheyenne last Tuesday night 2-1.
