Along with the boys, the girls soccer season is drawing close to the end of the season. Class 4A will go to regionals Thursday-Saturday and both classes are in state May 15th-17th.
The weekend of girls soccer in class 4A was highlighted by a couple of ranked match-ups involving #3 Cheyenne Central. The Lady Indians got blown out Thursday by #1 ranked Laramie 5-0. They would knock off #5 Riverton 5-4 on Saturday however. #2 Natrona fell in a big upset in the Casper Cup with unrated rivals Kelly Walsh 3-1. KW keeps the cup again this year. #4 East played to a 1-1 tie early Saturday morning in game one of a double-header after Friday's games were cancelled.
In class 3A girls soccer either of the top teams got games in thanks to the weather. #1 Buffalo and #2 Jackson didn't play, however Buffalo will play a make up game at Natrona on Monday after both NC and Buffalo were left with a hole in their schedules. #3 rated Lander's Lady Tigers blanked Newcastle 2 to zip. In a ranked showdown #5 Worland upset #4 Cody in a defensive, game 1-0. Worland turned around and defeated Powell 4-1 on Saturday.
