NHSCA Folkstyle Wrestling National Championships

This week is the chance for Wyoming High School state champions, and state runner-up wrestlers to compete with the best in the country, for the chance of becoming a national champion, and/or an All-American.

Virginia Beach, Virginia is hosting the National High School Coaches Association Folkstyle Wrestling National Championship Tournament. Wrestlers will compete within their own grade level (freshmen, vs. freshmen, sophomores vs. sophomores, etc...). Wrestlers must place in the top 8, to earn All-American status.

A total of 25 wrestlers from Wyoming High Schools will compete in this tournament. Check back later for results as we get them.

Freshmen:

103 lbs. - Bryce Meredith (Central) - 5-2. 4th Place. All-American!

112 lbs. - Tannar Galey (Kelly Walsh) - 2-2. Eliminated.

145 lbs. - Shay McCurdy (Green River) - Lost 15-2 in the finals. National Runner-up! All-American!

Sophomores:

125 lbs. - Jaime Flores (Green River) - 0-2. Eliminated.

130 lbs. - Dani Fischer (Gillette) - 4-2. Eliminated. Missed All-American by 1 match.

Juniors:

112 lbs. - Austin Vye (Central) - 2-2. Eliminated.

112 lbs. - Cody Vichi (Rock Springs) - 1-2. Eliminated.
