SAN DIEGO -- Brandon Nimmo waited until the proverbial 11th hour, but he finally became Mets property last night.

The 18-year-old outfielder from Cheyenne East (Wyo.) High School -- whom the Mets selected No. 1 (13th overall) in the June draft -- reportedly agreed to a $2.1 million signing bonus. The Mets officially announced Nimmo's signing shortly after last night's midnight deadline.

On Sunday, Nimmo's father, Ron, told The Post his son was prepared to begin classes at Arkansas next week if the Mets didn't increase their initial offer.
