Riverside Replaces FB Coach Mid Season

The Riverside Rebels have an interim head coach to finish out the season.

As reported last Friday on the Wyopreps Friday Nigh Scoreboard Show, last Thursday,  Riverside A.D. Shane Shaffner removed first year, Rebel head football coach Ted Holmstrom.     Shaffner said, "Due to confidentiality issues, I cannot divulge any specifics regarding the dismissal of Coach Holmstrom."

Sam Buck has been elevated to interim head coach and led the Rebels into their game last Friday against #2 ranked Lusk.

For Holmstrom, the job in Basin was his third school in three years.  He was at Lyman, helping lead the Eagles to the State Title game.  Last year was in Laramie, but, wasn't brought back after one season.

The Rebels were 1-2 under Holmstrom and are now 1-3 overall.   Shaffner added, "I just want to finish out this season before worrying about opening up the position or reviewing other possible options."
