A freshman Wolverine golfer crushed the field at Riverton Wednesday.

Riverton is one of the sites for the US Open Qualifying golf tournaments.

Playing his home course, 15-year old Easton Paxton would win the event by five strokes.

The 4A Golf Champion from last fall shot a 64 Wednesday and now has a chance to move on at sectionals in Creswell, Oregon, in June.

Riverton Country Club Golf Professional Steve Johnson said the field was a great field that Easton beat.

He mentioned there was a PGA Tour Winner in the field among other notables.

As a Fresman, Paxton won the state 4A title by 11 strokes last fall.

He will compete for a spot at the US Open at Sectionals in Oregon in June.
