Chalk up another national championship for J.R. Vezain...a 2010 graduate of Rocky Mountain High School.

The 2009 High School National Champion in Bareback Riding, now has a belt buckle and saddle, with the words "College National Champion" on it, after winning the 2011 College National Finals Rodeo, in Casper, this past weekend.

Riding for Vernon College out of Texas, Vezain was consistent with scores of 80.5, 77.5, 80.5, and 80, to win the title by 60 points, over the next closest competitor.

On the pro circuit, the R.M. grad is currently 12th in the nation, in bareback riding. He also competed at the CNFR in Saddle Bronc riding, although he did not fare as well.
