Wyoming Indian guard John Soundingsides scored an incredible amount Thursday in a home win over Shoshoni.

Wyoming Indian beat Shoshoni Thursday 116 to 42.  In that game,  Senior guard John Soundingsides scored 65 points hitting 17 three pointers.

You'll remember Diana Soundingsides was a sophomore when she hit 14 of 16 three's in 2004 and was in Sports Illustrated for her feat.

John's scoring line rivals that of Jaycee Carroll of Evanston who scored 56 points, making 14 of 16 three-point attempts back in the 90's.

According to the NFHS record book,  Soundingsides' performance would tie him with four others for 5th in the nation for 3's made in one game.  The national record is 24 set by Taurean Moy of Memphis, Tennessee, who did it in 2000.  Moy was 24 of 44 in that game.

Soundingsides has put up big numbers this season.   Coming into this weekend (not counting his 17 he just made) he had hit 77 three pointers.  He had shot 230, good for 33%.  He has scored 45 points in one game on the road at Big Piney.   He has scored over 30 points five times this season and over 40 three times.  Coming into Thursday, he was averaging nearly 24 points per game.
