Cheyenne East won the girls championship while Central and Laramie  would tie for the boys title at the State Indoor track championships in Gillette on Saturday.

A few state records fell.    Cassidy Meade of Laramie breaks the old 800 meter time with a 2:.23.43.  The   broke the old record of Jessica Lemaster of Central set last year of 2:24.81.     Abby Phillips of Gillette breaks the 3200 mark with 11:43.5.   That was faster than that of Dana Morin of Sheridan  in 2010  of  11:47.07.   Ricky Faure of Rock Springs won the 800 meter run with a 1:58.93.  The was fast enough to break the record of Dylan Morin from Sheridan who went 2:00.22 back in 2011.

There were a couple of near misses.   Kolby Kester of Green River missed the 55 meter dash record by 1 /100th of a second.     The Rock Springs boys relay team in the 4 by 800 missed a state record by .22 seconds.

Cheyenne East's Jessy Eatmon won the 55 and the 200 meter dashes.  She was also on the winning 2 by 200 relay.    Kester would win the 55 meter dash and the hurdles for Green River.

In the team standings,  East won the girls title of defending champion Gillette 85 to 79.5   Cody and Laramie were close in 3rd and 4th.    Laramie and Central boys each scored 85 points to share the title.  Each had only one champion as well.
