The date of Jan. 7, 2022, will be one the Douglas High School girls’ basketball program will remember forever. That’s the day they set a new state record.
For the second consecutive year, Douglas High School senior and University of Wyoming signee Allyson Fertig has been tabbed as the Gatorade Wyoming Girls Basketball Player of the Year for 2020-21.
With a pass that resulted in a lay-up, Douglas senior Joslin Igo became the all-time assists leader in Wyoming High School girls’ basketball history last Saturday.
All they’ve done together is win 76 high school basketball games and a pair of state championships. Douglas seniors Allyson Fertig and Joslin Igo have been simply dominant.
The reigning Gatorade Wyoming Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Allyson Fertig from Douglas, has decided to stay and play in-state with the Wyoming Cowgirls.
