The Flaming Gorge Basketball Classic held their first ever Three Point Challenge and Slam Dunk Contest.

It was a great event that nearly filled the Green River gym. There were several three point shooters and about 10 dunkers.

Each faction of the crowd stood and roared as their shooter walked by to get things going. There was great sportsmanship shown by all and it was a great thing for high school hoops.

I was a little disappointed that certain players were not at the event that clearly should be. I don't know if it was a coach decision or if the player didn't want too, but, it would have been nice to see them get the chance to show off their skills! I understand the 'getting hurt' thing, but it still would be cool to see them perform.

Is there an open forum on this or any other sight for local prep sports? Is this the best place for coverage of local boys and girls sports?,in paticular I am looking for coverage of the Gillette ladies B-Ball team.
