The last big weekend before the winter break is coming up, and the rankings could see a shuffle, after a lot of games are played.

The 4A rankings are unchanged from last week. It's Kelly Walsh at #1, followed by Gillette, East, Sheridan and Rock Springs. The latter 4 will all be in Sweetwater County this weekend for the Flaming Gorge Classic...included is a Friday game, between #4 vs. #5. Meanwhile, KW will take their game into Montana vs. a pair of Billings teams.

3A has the most interesting matchups of the week, because 4 of the top 5 will be playing in Douglas. Cody and Lander are both undefeated and thus are ranked #1 and #2, but they will spend the weekend in Bearcat country with #3 Rawlins and #4 Douglas...although Cody and Rawlins do not hook up. Star Valley is tied with Douglas for the #4 ranking and will be at the Flaming Gorge. Their first opponent is #5 4A Rock Springs.

The Wyoming Indian Chiefs made a statement on what was their opening weekend...and now WIHS is on top of the 2A polls. They will host the Front Range Classis this weekend. Greybull jumped over Lusk for #2, after beating the Tigers last week, but the Buffalos just picked up loss #1 Tuesday night, when they fell at 1A Burlington. Lusk is #3 in the rankings, Moorcroft is #4, and Saratoga is starting to get some attention at #5.

As mentioned, Burlington won the battle of undefeated Tuesday night vs. 2A Greybull, and the Huskies are the unanimous #1 in the 1A rankings. They will mix it up vs. some 2A and 3A teams this weekend in Cowley. Little Snake River is at #2, and should be in for a good game Friday, when #5 2A Saratoga visits. Guernsey climbs up a couple of spots to #3, while Encampment holds at #4, and Dubois is ranked for the first time in awhile at #5.
