This is a big week for the bigger classes!

Games in 4A and 3A this weekend, feature first place matchups, and the top 5 ranked teams, according to the coaches and media, will be mixing it up within the ranks!

It starts Thursday in 4A. The schedule got swapped around again for #1 Kelly Walsh, and instead of playing at home, the Trojans will travel to #5 Rock Springs. Then on Friday and Saturday, all 4A attention will be at Cheyenne East, as the #4 Thunderbirds will first try to swipe back their #3 ranking away from Sheridan, and then try to move up another spot on Saturday, when they host #2 Gillette.

By the end of this weekend, we'll know for sure which team is in first place in the 3A East. As for the west...it could be just as clear, or there could be a jam on top. First off, #2 Lander will have their hands full with back to back road games in Park County. On Friday they visit former #1, now #4 Cody, then follow that with a Saturday game at #5 Powell. The Tigers are unbeaten in the 3A West, but their weekend competition are both 1 game behind and are breathing down their neck. Meanwhile in the 3A East, there are 2 teams on top, both are unbeaten in conference play, and both lead every other team by at least 2 games, which means these 2 teams haven't played each other yet. On Saturday, it's #3 Wheatland visiting the new #1 ranked team, Rawlins! (Wheatland beat out Cody for the #3 ranking by 1 vote)

There was a stunner last weekend in Sublette County, and it had some effect in the 2A rankings, but not as much as one might think. Despite the loss, Wyoming Indian still remains on top, while Big Piney moved up 2 spots to #3. The voters are probably waiting to see what happens, when the Punchers and Chiefs rematch on February 15th, in Ethete. Meanwhile, Lusk retains the #2 spot. Greybull and Moorcroft were bumped down to #4 and #5, after BP's big win. As for matchups this week...nothing big is on the schedule.

1A saw a tiny bit of movement in the newest rankings. Little Snake River takes the #4 spot from Cokeville, after beating the Panthers last week, and bumping them down to #5 in the process. Other then that...Burlington is still the unanimous #1, Guernsey is still the unanimous #2, and Upton is #3. Like 2A, the 1A schedule this weekend, is quiet.
