In 1 month, the champions will be crowned, but until then, the coaches/media rankings will show which teams are the contenders.

There's no change in the new 4A rankings. #1 Natrona, #2 Thunder Basin and #3 Cheyenne East all beat each other, and with 2 games to go, barring any surprises, a 3-way coin flip will decide post-season seeding. On that topic, #4 Sheridan hosts #5 Laramie this weekend. Both teams are battling for the #4 seed, which includes a first home playoff home game.

3A is probably the most difficult class to figure out. Especially the west, which holds 4 of the 5 spots in the rankings. #1 Torrington can secure the East #1 seed for the playoffs, if they take care of business this weekend at Worland. As for the west, and rankings #2 thru #5, it's still up in the air. Star Valley moves up to #2 after the big road win at Jackson last week. The voters came down on the Broncs pretty hard on that, dropping them to #4, behind Cody who moves up to #3. That's a head-scratcher considering Jackson beat up Cody pretty good 3 weeks ago. Jackson will look to rebound at home vs. #5 Evanston. Cody is on Star Valley's mind this week, because they haven't forgotten last year, when the Broncs visited in the semi-finals, and ended the Braves undefeated run.

Things are starting to settle down seeding wise in 2A. #1 Buffalo has secured the East #1 seed with 2 games to go. #2 Glenrock and #4 Wheatland can lock up East #2 and #3 seeds with wins this week. As for the west, #3 Mountain View and #5 Greybull have another game to deal with, before they can focus on next week's showdown at Greybull.

The top 3 seeds in the 1A East could be set this weekend, while the west may have to wait another week. #1 Big Horn can clinch the East with a win home vs. Lusk. #2 Cokeville will take their forfeit win vs. Saratoga this week, and play Evanston's JV instead. #3 Upton-Sundance hosts #4 Pine Bluffs, in a game that most likely will determine the East #2 and #3 seeds. Wright is back in the rankings at #5 this week. Right now they would not make the playoffs, but their remaining 2 games are winnable. Unranked Lusk on the other hand, currently occupies the final playoff spot in the East, and their last 2 games are not going to be easy...especially after losing home vs. Wright last week.

The top seeds in 6-Man may or may not be decided this weekend. #1 Farson-Eden can wrap up the west if they can win at Burlington, but that may be easier said than done. #3 Meeteetse can secure a first round home game with a win this weekend. The Longhorns have next week off to prepare for the playoffs. The East will take center stage on Saturday, when #4 Kaycee visits #2 H.E.M. The Buckaroos can wrap up the East #1 seed with a win, while H.E.M. needs a win and needs Guernsey-Sunrise to lose. If the Vikings and Miners both win this weekend, then there will be a huge collision at Hanna next week. In the meantime, #5 Little Snake River will take their forfeit win vs. Ten Sleep and rest this weekend.
