Most of the ranked teams from opening weekend, were able to stay in the new top 5 coaches/media poll this week.

In fact, all the #1 ranked teams retained their rankings.

Natrona is the unanimous #1 in the 4A polls, as the Fillies dominated all 3 of their opponents in Cheyenne. Their home opener is Friday, when they host #3 Sheridan. Gillette holds at #2, and hosts the Camel Basketball Invitational this weekend, which includes #5 Rock Springs. Meanwhile, East slips to #4 and will head south of the border for their games.

In 3A...despite the loss vs. #1 Douglas, the voters were impressed that Lyman, managed to take the Lady Bearcats to double-OT. As a reward, the Lady Eagles were awarded the #5 ranking. The top 3 are unchanged with Douglas, Star Valley, and Rawlins in that order. Torrington moves up one spot to #4. Not much excitement within the 3A ranks is scheduled for this weekend.

In 2A...the streak is now at 32 straight for the top ranked Lady Eagles of Tongue River. A stern test awaits them Saturday at #3 Lovell...provided they get by Rocky Mountain at home first. TR is not the unanimous #1 though, as #2 Kemmerer got 1 first place vote. It should an interesting inter-class game, when #3 3A Rawlins visits the Lady Rangers. #4 Sundance, is off to an unbeaten start, and already played their one and only game of this week, back on Tuesday, so the Lady Bulldogs will rest this weekend. Burns is #5 and will host their own Winter Classic on Friday and Saturday.

It's still close on top of the 1A ranks...and that could be a sign that #1 Lingle-Ft. Laramie and #2 Cokeville could see each other again in the post-season...but there's 3 months to go until that. Upton climbs up to #3, after winning their own tournament. Little Snake River checks in at #4. Guernsey and Hulett share the #5 ranking. Not much is scheduled for this weekend, as far as ranked team vs. ranked team is concerned.
