Three of last week's #1 ranked teams got a good test. Two of the three squeezed, while the other came up short.

Natrona was the one that came up on the short end of the stick. The previously top ranked Fillies, found themselves down 18 at halftime, and their rally came up 2 points short. As a result, Sheridan would avenge their only loss on the season, and now the Lady Broncs are on top of the latest 4A rankings. Meanwhile NC falls to #2, while Gillette and East hold at #3 and #4. Central now has the #5 ranking all to themselves after sharing it last week. Conference play starts this weekend. The matchup of note is East vs. Central.

Douglas held on to win by 2 points, in their #1 vs. #2 game with Rawlins. The Lady Bearcats have been rewarded with being the unanimous #1 ranked team in 3A, but 2 more tough tests await them this weekend, home vs. #3 Torrington, and at #4 Newcastle. As for the Lady Outlaws, they would retain their #2 ranking. Newcastle moves up to #4, pushing Mountain View down to #5 in the process.

The top 5 in 2A is unchanged from last week, and this week is a big week as the top 4 mix it up within the ranks. On Friday, it's #4 Wind River at #2 Kemmerer, and then Saturday, it's #1 Lovell at #3 Tongue River. The Lady Bulldogs brought the Lady Eagles back to earth in December. Has TR recovered? Elsewhere, Southeast holds on to the #5 ranking, despite losing an 8 point lead with 3 minutes to go, vs. arch-rival Lingle-Ft. Laramie last week.

Speaking of the Lady Doggers...that win vs. Southeast, combined with a win at Rock River, would ensure they would stay undefeated, and still on top of the 1A rankings. Upton picked up their first loss last week, but it was against a 2A opponent, so the voters kept the Lady Bobcats at #2. Just like 2A, the entire top 5 in 1A in unchanged. The rest of the poll has Cokeville at #3, followed by Little Snake River, and RR. A big southwest battle lurks on Friday, when the defending 1A champ Lady Panthers travel to play the Lady Rattlers.
