The winter break did not have much affect on the latest coaches/media rankings.

Unlike the last rankings, this time there are 5 teams in the rankings and not 6. Gillette remains the top ranked team, followed by Cheyenne East, Rock Springs, and Laramie, which is no different than before. Natrona now has the #5 ranking to themselves. The match of interest this weekend has RS at Laramie. The Lady Tigers have 3 weeks of rust to shake off, because their games last week were snowed out. Unranked Green River will have a chance to prove themselves as well vs. the Lady Plainsmen. The reason the Lady Wolves haven't received many votes, is because they have yet to play a 4A opponent.

The same 5 teams remain in 3A, just in a slightly different order. All of the other teams are looking up at Douglas and Star Valley. Lyman moves up to #3, while Worland and Powell share the #4 ranking. The only ranked matchup of note this weekend has Powell visiting Douglas on Saturday.

Pine Bluffs remains the unanimous #1 team in Class 2A heading into the start of conference play. Wyoming Indian remains a solid #2 after winning the Big Horn Basin Shootout last weekend. Southeast moves ahead of Big Horn for the #3 ranking, after beating the Lady Rams last weekend. BH drops to #4 as a result, and Sundance maintains the #5 position.

There's no change at all in the latest 1A rankings. It's still St. Stephens, Little Snake River, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Encampment and Farson-Eden in that order. The last 2 hook up in Sweetwater County this weekend to start conference play. Lingle-Ft. Laramie will have their hands full with rival Southeast from the 2A rankings.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
