Teams are preparing for the post-season, but not before a new #1 has surfaced in the latest coaches/media rankings.

East is still the unanimous #1 in 4A, although they finally dropped 1 set (but not the match) to a Wyoming opponent when Laramie managed to get 1 on the Lady Thunderbirds. That matters little, because East has secured the East #1 seed heading into the regional tournament, and #2 Gillette has locked up the #2 seed. In the west, #3 Evanston can get the top seed with a win Thursday at home vs. Rock Springs, but after that, there's a log jam for the next few seeds as #4 Green River, #5 Natrona and even unranked Kelly Walsh are all trying to stake a claim.

In 3A the west has calmed down, while the East continues to shuffle around. Star Valley is the unanimous #1, with Jackson holding at #2. Then it's Buffalo, Rawlins and Worland at #3, #4 and #5. Worland travels to Buffalo in hopes of untangling a crowded northeast quadrant, where each team is 2-2.

Wright is still the unanimous #1 in Class 2A. The defending champs have swept every 2A opponent they have faced. They will conclude conference business at home this weekend vs. #4 Big Horn. Elsewhere, Lyman is back up to #2, by 1 vote ahead of Shoshoni. Those 2 teams will probably meet up at the west regional tournament. Pine Bluffs drops 1 spot to #5 this week.

The new #1 team in Class 1A is Encampment. Kaycee had held that spot all season, but lost a 5-set thriller at #3 Little Snake River last week, so the Lady Bucs fall 1 spot to #2. Lingle-Ft. Laramie remains the #4 team, while Burlington holds course at #5.
