Wyoming Legion Baseball Winter Meeting Results 2017
Wyoming Legion Baseball Coaches have formatted the 2018 season, which includes a change to the state tournament.
State, Regional and National Tournaments:
The National Legion Board has ruled that all games at state, regional and national tournaments will be 7-inning games. As far as the regular season goes, that's up to the teams.
Nothing changes as far conference alignment goes.
East: Cheyenne Post 6, Laramie Rangers, Gillette Roughriders, Sheridan Troopers
West: Casper Oilers, Jackson Giants, Rock Springs Archie Hay Post 24, Evanston Outlaws
Conference games will be double-header 7-inning games home and away.
At the state tournament...first round only...the better seed is the home team. Everything after that is coin flip.
In 2019, conferences will be eliminated. All 8 teams will play each other in 7-inning double-headers vs. each other. Team A will visit team B one year, and then reverse the following year.
Conference games will be single 9-inning games home and away.
Torrington, Wheatland and Glenrock will re-join.
Each conference will have a 3-day district tournament, the weekend before the state tournament. The top 2 teams based on conference play, get a first round bye and are automatically in the state tournament. The remaining 4 teams will play each other in the first round (3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5), and the winners are also in the state tournament. The losers are eliminated.
