Wyoming Wrestlers Compete at National Tournament

State WrestlingRecently 29 Wyoming High School wrestlers competed at the National High School Coaches Association National Championship Tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in efforts of winning All-American status.

A wrestler must place in the top 8 of his weight class to earn that honor.

Tevis Bartlett of Cheyenne East ended up winning the national championship in the freshman division at 182 lbs. pinning Matthew Wagner of Pennsylvania in 5 minutes and 23 seconds.

Bryce Meredith of Cheyenne Central, finished as runner up in the sophomore division at 113 lbs.

All in all, Wyoming came away with 4 All-Americans.

Sophomore – 113 lbs.: Bryce Meredith (Cheyenne Central) 5 wins 1 loss Runner-Up All-American
