The 2A East Regional Track meet featured some top-notch talent on both the boy's and girls' sides. The top 4 relays and top 8 individuals punched their tickets to the state championships this week in Casper.

On the ladies' side, Tongue River really looked impressive. Addie Pendergast won the 100-meter dash in 12.58 and also took the tape in the 400 with a time of 57.09. She is a freshman by the way. Jane Pendergast took the 200 meters with a clocking of 26.92.   Tongue River finished 1-2 in all of the sprint events, Adelaide Williams of Glenrock made the top of the podium in the 100 hurdles as she finished in 17.55. Wright's Ashtyn Seeley won the 300 hurdles in 48.38. In the relays, Pine Bluffs the winner of the 4x100 and the 4x800, Tongue River wins the 4x400 and the 1600 medley.

In the 2A girls distance races,  Addie Pendergast of Tongue River ran 2.23.46 to win the 800. Moorcroft freshman Mallory Jones was the runaway winner in the 1600 with a clocking of 5.30.99 and she also won the 3200 with a time of 11.48.22.

Over in the field events, Carleigh Reish of Tongue River too 1st in the long jump at 16-11 plus she placed first in the high jump at 5 feet even. Her teammate Grace Sopko won the triple jump with a leap of 31-11.75 and the Eagles went 1-2-3 in that event. The pole vault winner was Summer Schumacher at 7-6. In the throwing events, Amelia Gee of Big Horn threw 37-4 to win the shot and Bailey Hofland of Sundance threw 109-6 to take the discus.

Tongue River piled up 188 points to take first with Glenrock 2nd and Pine Bluffs 3rd.

Over to the boys in the speed races, Big Horn got with it right away with a win in the 100 meters thanks to Carson Bates in 11.24. He wasn't finished as he took the 200 meters in 22.93 with the Rams going 1-2-3 in that event. Over in the 400, Garrett Ostler from Tongue River ran 50.73 to take the tape. Over in the hurdles, Caleb Gilbride of Tongue River placed first in the 110 in 17.64 with Big Horn's Garrett Custis winning the 300 in 43.14.

In the long races, Wyatt Ostler of Tongue River took home a 1st place medal with a win in the 800 in 2.03.82. He also was victorious in the 1600 meters with a clocking of 4.39.70. Guess what? Ostler won the 3200 as well in 10.17.73. In the relay races, Big Horn won the 4x100, the 4x400, with Tongue River taking the 4x800 and the 1600 medley.

In the field events, Aric Eaton of Lusk cleared 10-3 to win the pole vault, Keaton Mills from Sundance cleared 5-9 to take the high jump. In the long jump,  Bryce Morris of Big Horn won that with a leap of 19-7 and in the triple jump, the winner there was Reed Thompson of Pine Bluffs as he went 39-11. In the weight events, Jasper Caldera of Lusk won the discus at 153-4 and made it a sweep in the throws with a toss of 51-3.5 to win the shot. In the team standings, Big Horn amassed 200 points for 1st and Tongue had 188.5 for 2nd. Pine Bluffs took 3rd.
