It was a wire-to-wire win.

Lander raced out to a 15-to-6 lead after 1 quarter, and never looked back, as the Tigers (24-4) defeated Powell, 58-to-40, in the 3A Boys Basketball State Championship game, to win their first title since 2008.

The biggest difference stat-wise, was that Lander scored more points off of turnovers (18-5) and got more scoring from the bench compared to the opposition (19-5).

Niieihii Black was the leading scorer for the Tigers.

He had a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds).

Adding to the cause, was Bryan St. Clair with 11 and Antonio Coando with 10.

Mason Marchant led the way for the Panthers (12-13), with 16 points.
