The lightning and the thunder made history for the new Gillette school.

The Thunder Basin Lady Boltz went on a 23-4 run to close out the 2nd quarter, en route to a 70-to-58 win vs. Cheyenne East, to win their first state championship in the school's 2-year history.

TB (23-4) made their 3's (10 vs. 5), found ways to get to the free throw line (made 20 of 29 shots vs. 5 of 14), and got production from the bench (21-8).

Madison Miller had a double-double for the Lady Boltz (15 points, 11 rebounds), while team-mates Jersie Taylor and Shelby Tarter added in 14 and 10 points respectively.

The Lady Thunderbirds (27-3) were led in scoring by Ky Buell (14) and Madison Blaney (12).
