Teams are entering the stretch run of their schedule and some #1 seeds, could be decided this weekend.

In the boys 4A poll, Laramie is the unanimous #1, with Riverton and Sheridan tied for #2. Natrona holds at #4 and East back in the poll at #5. The Plainsmen can wrap up the East conference, with a win this Saturday at Sheridan. Riverton can do the same in the west, if they win both games this weekend...home vs. Green River and home vs. Rock Springs.

On the 3A boys side of things, #1 Buffalo will be back in action, after a week off. The Bison play home vs. South on Saturday, and then visit #4 Worland on Tuesday. The attention will be focused in the southwest division this weekend. #2 Lander and #4 Worland, visit #3 Jackson. The game to pay the most attention to, is Friday's contest between the Tigers and the Broncs, as that could decide a #1 seed. Cody slips to #5 and will host their arch-rivals, Powell on Friday.

UPDATE: The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), has released its latest rankings. No Wyoming teams are ranked nationally, but in Region 3 (Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska, Iowa), Riverton is ranked #6 and Buffalo is ranked #7.

Things will get interesting this weekend in the muddled middle of the 4A girls. #1 Central only has to deal with their cross-town rivals this week. Friday they host #5 East, to close out a 7-game homestand. Most of the attention, will be focused in Laramie this weekend, as the 3rd ranked Lady Plainsmen, host both #2 Gillette and #4 Sheridan. The results of those 2 games will either help clear up the regional seeding picture, or make it that much more confusing. On a separate note, Tuesday's win by Kelly Walsh over Natrona, helped complete a sweep of the east over the west. East teams went 9-0 vs. the West, outscoring the competition, 44-1.

As for the 3A girls...top ranked Buffalo is back in action, hosting South on Saturday, and Worland on Tuesday. #4 Lander is at #2 Jackson on Friday, in a game that should decide the southwest division. Meanwhile, #3 Cody hosts Powell on Friday, while #5 Torrington is at Douglas on Thursday, and home vs. Rawlins on Saturday.
