Highlights of the Friday, April 13th girls soccer game, between #2 Star Valley at #1 Cody.

Scroll down to watch the highlights of the game!

After giving up an early goal, Cody would dominate the rest of the game, and score all of their goals in the 2nd half.

I’m making a guess that this little girl is dreaming about raising race horses when she grows up…come to think of it…we’re just a few weeks away from the Kentucky Derby.

Number 2 Star Valley at Number 1 Cody…first half…Star Valley wearing the maroon…Jessica Woodford has the goalie thinking one thing, but the sophomore had something else in mind. That’s good ball control. The Lady Braves are on the board first, leading 1-to-nothing.

That served as a wakeup call for the Fillies and they would mostly dominate the rest of the game…they just had to work on finishing. Bridget Schumacher has the defense beat on this play, but she could not beat the goal-post. You can tell by her expression…that’s one play she wanted to have back. That’s the breaks sometimes in this game.

They kept trying. Jessica England is the goalie for Star Valley. She had her work cut out for her, but on this play…wow…she stopped Darby Bell at point blank range and hardly even flinched. Just another day at the office I suppose. The visitors still led 1-nil going into halftime.

2nd half…here comes the home team…Schumacher was not going to be denied on this play…she had to atone for her earlier miss. She saw England coming and adjusted perfectly. The Fillies needed that one, and now they can breathe a little easier with the score now tied at 1-goal a piece.

And there was more to come…here’s Schumacher again…this time though she gets denied by the cross-bar. However…Alyssa Prosceno was in the right place at the right time to chest bump the rebound in. She had her team-mate’s back. Cody is now in the lead with the score at 2-to-1.

Now here’s a moment that Star Valley players and fans do not want to see…I never figured out who that was…don’t tell me either…she had a hard enough time with the fact that she knocked the ball into her own net. The home team will take the free gift. Credit for the goal goes to Kelsey Frost, and the score is now 3-to-1.

This last highlight is our fault…we thought the game was over and almost got caught sleeping.  Prosceno proved otherwise. Bell gets the assist on the play. Cody would take over in the 2nd half…and go on to win the game, 4-to-1.
