Former Lander Valley HS, Sheridan College and University of Nevada-Reno basketball player, Tahnee Robinson, made history earlier this year...but her window of opportunity to make more history, may have been closed.

The Connecticut Sun have cut the first Wyoming born player and the first Native American to be drafted, by a WNBA team, before the regular season started.

Last week in an exhibition game vs. the Chinese National Team, Robinson scored 5 points in 8 minutes of play.

According to Sun coach Mike Thibault:

"Tahnee just hadn't been able to beat out the people in front of her. The players at our guard position are pretty solid veterans and there really isn't a roster spot for her at this point. She has some work to do in a couple of areas of her game and hopefully she can go overseas also and work on them."

Robinson was the 31st pick in the most recent WNBA draft, selected by the Phoenix Mercury, before being traded to Connecticut.
