Although the Wyoming High School basketball season is over, the season continues for a number of former wyoprep athletes.

The Wyoming Cowgirls (22-8) recently qualified for the women's NIT and won the first game vs. Portland State. The next game is scheduled for Monday, March 21st at home vs. Oklahoma St. The team is led by Mountain West Conference Player of the Year Aubrey Vandiver, a graduate from Laramie HS. Joining Vandiver is Hillary Carlson, from Cheyenne Central, who like Vandiver, has received MWC Player of the week honors, on several occasions. Kristen Scheffler of Lovell is also a member of the team, but has been on the injured list, since December.

Ladner grad Tahnee Robinson is finishing her senior season at the University of Nevada-Reno. The Lady Wolfpack are also playing in the WNIT. They won their first game vs. St. Mary's, CA, and will host Southern Cal on Sunday, March 20th.

The women's basketball team at Casper College (24-9) will compete at the Junior College National Championship Tournament in Salina, Kansas. Members of the Lady Thunderbirds from Wyoming include, CodiAnne Corpening (Kemmerer), Alyssa Schmidt (Laramie), McKenzie Danforth (Powell), Jasmine Belin (Cheyenne East), and Lindsey Fearing (Cheyenne Central). CC lost the first game vs. Grayson County, Kansas, but won in the consolation round vs. John A. Logan College from Illinois. The next game is scheduled for Friday, March 18th vs. Cloud County CC from Kansas. Tip time is scheduled for 11am.
