Girls Soccer: East vs. Jackson Highlights [VIDEO]

Highlights of the Saturday, March 17th girls soccer game between East and Jackson.

The Lady Thunderbirds would dominate the game throughout, en route to a shutout win.

Ahhh…mini powdered doughnuts…the breakfast of champions for soccer players!

Cheyenne East vs. Jackson in a 4A vs. 3A match-up…this game being played in Casper…first half…East wearing the black…Rachel Erickson launches one from about 20 yards out and connects for the Lady Thunderbirds…that’s how they got this party started and they lead 1-nil.

Later…Erickson is coming around the other side of the net…Faith Hamlin is not taking chances…she saw Jasmine Madsen looking for the assist and the sophomore will make sure that connection does not happen…East still led 1-zip going into halftime.

2^nd half…both teams now going in the opposite direction…the Lady Thunderbirds taking the slow approach out of the corner…they set it up for Micayla Ross and she’ll knock it in from close range…that did not look difficult…simple but effective and now the score is 2-to-nothing.

There wasn’t much to show on Jackson’s behalf in this game, but the opposition kept them in check for the most part. That meant that Hamlin had some extra work to do and then some. Good couple of saves on that attempt, but she was not able to stop them all.

East dominated both sides of the ball against the 4-time defending 3A state champs…Erickson puts her left foot down and gets the ball up, over and in for her second goal of the game. That was more than enough, as the Lady Thinderbirds would go on to win this game easily…3-nil.
